Transfer Student Center
Did you know? The majority of our declared anthropology undergraduates are transfer students! We are committed to supporting you on your transition from community college to UC Berkeley. Check out the Transfer Student Center, a hub that offers free advising, workshops, and printing!
Disabled Students' Program (DSP)
DSP helps students navigate the process of asking professors for accommodations, along with other academic accommodations.
Black Lives Matter: Resources for Black Folks and Allies
AUA is committed to fostering a safe and comfortable community for Black undergraduates. One of our Fall 2020 initiatives is to create a collection of Black anthropological works and antiracist literature that is accessible to all AUA members. Please check back soon for more information.
Anthropology 114
Anthropology 114, the History of Anthropological Thought, is a required theory course for all anthropology majors. This course is only offered in the Spring, so we will be creating a study group closer to the Spring. As we compile other resources for this class, we will include them here.

Field Schools and Internships
Not sure what you plan on doing during the summer? Field schools and anthropology internships are a great option! Check out some programs that current anthropology undergraduates recommend:
- Institute for Field Research: IFR offers many global anthropology opportunities, from museum studies to primatology.
- Off the Beaten Track: a social-cultural anthropology field school located in Gozo, Malta, Europe.
- American Anthropological Association Recommendations: check out opportunities advertised by AAA!
- Smithsonian Museum Internships: learn more about museum studies through their summer opportunities.
Undergraduate Research Apprenticeship Program (URAP)
URAP is a research program that allows undergraduates to work with graduate students and professors on their research! Projects are hands-on, and students can take on URAP projects any semester.
UPDATE FOR Fall 2020: URAP plans to have an application cycle this fall (with the expectation that the majority of projects will be remote). They will post open fall projects at the end of July; please check the Announcements section on the main URAP website at urap.berkeley.edu. The Fall 2020 application will be open August 19th–August 31st.
